1. What is the John Hancock Vitality Program?
The John Hancock Vitality Program rewards members for their everyday healthy activities, like walking the dog, going to the doctor and buying healthy food. Healthy activities earn points. Points can add up to rewards and savings! John Hancock offers two versions of the program - Vitality GO and Vitality PLUS.
2. Will the data that is collected in conjunction with the John Hancock Vitality Program affect a policyholder's underwriting risk class after the policy is issued
No. This data will be used solely to help determine a member's Vitality Status, any medical or other information which in turn impacts their level of rewards and premium savings (available with Vitality PLUS). We will never use Vitality Status, any medical or other information about the life insured provided to Vitality to change the life insured's risk classification, or as the sole basis to deny a future request to reinstate coverage.
3. Does participating (or not participating) in the program impact the cost of a policyholder's life insurance policy?
Participation in the program is not required and the level of participation in Vitality GO will not impact policy premiums. However, premiums for Vitality PLUS may vary based on the type of policy purchased, the terms of the policy and the level of participation in the John Hancock Vitality Program.
4. Can older members still benefit from the program?
Yes, a customized version of the program is available for issue ages 71 through 90 that takes into account an older member's unique health and wellness considerations. That means they'll get rewarded for the things they do to stay healthy, but at a pace that makes sense for them.
Note: The customized program will automatically apply to inforce policy owners who have other John Hancock Vitality policies once they reach age 71 or older.
